Goals:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2013 research on history, theory, perception and analysis of drama and theater in Central and Eastern Europe;
\n\u2013 creating opportunities for cooperation and collaboration of scientific societies and academics that deal with drama and theater in Central and Eastern Europe;
\n\u2013 cooperation among university departments and cultural institutions due to popularization of knowledge and exchange of information on drama and theater in Central and Eastern Europe.<\/p>\n

Specific goals:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2013 research on contemporary drama in Central and Eastern Europe after 1989, also from a comparative perspective;
\n\u2013 research on contemporary theater in Central and Eastern Europe after 1989, also from a comparative perspective;
\n\u2013 research on creation and development of the national theaters (taking into acount such countries as: Belarus, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia);
\n\u2013 research on creation national historical theaters;
\n\u2013 research on contemporary drama of Central and Eastern Europe in the context of the world literary tradition as well as word literary trends;
\n\u2013 research on reception of Central and Eastern European drama in Poland;
\n\u2013 research on stage directions as well as the concept of time and space in drama.<\/p>\n

Plans:<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2013 continue to translate the latest plays from the various countries of Central and Eastern Europe (with particular emphasis on Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Slovakia and the Czech Republic);
\n\u2013 continuation of the publication of contemporary drama anthologies from the Region countries. So far, the following have been published: two volumes of Russian drama, three volumes of Belorussian drama, one volume of Ukrainian drama and one volume of Slovakian drama;
\n\u2013 publication of articles devoted to the history and theory of drama and theater;
\n\u2013 organization of conferences devoted to the drama and theater of Central and Eastern Europe;
\n\u2013 organization of cycles of lectures and seminars in other Polish universities as well as abroad;
\n\u2013 publication of a yearbook devoted to current issues on the drama and theater of the Region;
\n\u2013 collecting materials (playbills, programs) connected with the reception of the Region’s drama in Poland;
\n\u2013 cooperation with centers that deal with dramatic and theatrical theory in Poland and abroad;
\n\u2013 creating an Internet platform which allows the collection and promulgation of the research results conducted in the Laboratory. Collecting videos of the Laboratory members’ lectures;
\n\u2013 popularization of activities involving students of the Chair, eg. public reading of dramas translated and published in the Laboratory.<\/p>\n
